The cartoonist B. Kliban had a cartoon in the 1970s that advised, "Never eat anything bigger than your head." The people at La Tequila never heard of this rule, judging by their burritos. They are massive, served "wet" with sauce, and overstuffed., I had the Chile Verde pork burrito and my mother had the carne asada "Macho" burrito. I powered through mine - it was delicious - and she ate a quarter of hers. The rest will make two or three more meals for her. She said hers was also delicious. The service was excellent as well.

I tried this place and the Chile Relleno combo today and it was so good and a great price, too! Friendly service! Highly recommend it.

The food is good& the homemade tortillas are WOW. Those are outstanding. I hope they pay that Lady super well ! The outside patio, is awesome. It's very nice clean well decorated great place to have a party or a large family gathering. And this service is sweet and lovely.

We spotted this restaurant as we drove through town, checked the Yelp reviews, and decided to give it a try. We parked in the lot behind the restaurant. There is a fountain at the entrance, which leads to a nice patio seating area. We would loved to have been able to sit outside, but smoke from the wildfires had blown into Cloverdale, so we headed inside. There was seating in the bar, but it was quite noisy. The restaurant seating area was empty, so that is where we headed. The menu is quite extensive. It was a little confusing, because photos of the menu items were on the next page instead of next to their descriptions. Once I figured it out, it became a bit easier to choose what I wanted. After a bit, our server came to take our orders. To start, I ordered a margarita flight, which allowed me to choose 4 different margaritas to try. My flight consisted of pomegranate, spicy pineapple, hibiscus and cucumber margaritas. Enjoyed them all. For dinner, I ordered the chicken mole enchilada with rice and beans. The food was good, but was rather bland. Nothing exciting in the flavors. Our server was a bit preoccupied, so I'd rate the service as bland, also. But we had an enjoyable time, a relaxed dinner, and some nice margaritas, so four stars it is. Just a note: After dinner, we walked outside and were amazed to see that the wind had shifted and the smoke was gone leaving only blue skies!

La Tequila Mexican Restaurant, Cloverdale, CA - August 31, 2023 We came in a little before 5 pm on a Thursday evening. They have a bar, indoor restaurant, and outdoor patio. There was smoke in the air from Northern California wildfires, so we decided to sit on the restaurant side indoors. The bar was a little noisy for us and the restaurant side was very quiet. We were just about the only people in the restaurant. They got us our menus, water, and chips and salsa right away. After a short while, the bartender from the other side, came over to get our drink orders. The menu is very extensive and as the restaurant's name implies, they have lots of tequila drinks.My wife ordered the margarita flight, which included a pomegranate margarita, spicy pineapple margarita,, Hibiscus margarita, and cucumber margarita, I ordered, the top shelf margarita. The drinks were very good. A little while later, the bartender from the bar came over to get our food order. I ordered the super burrito with Al Pastore meat and my wife ordered the chicken Molay enchilada combination plate with rice, and beans. All the food was tasty. I hope to come back the next time we're in the area.

Outstanding! The food was great! The remodel is bright and cheery it made me smile. The booth was quite comfy! We have been waiting for this restaurant to open for awhile. We live in Mendocino County and don't get this way often. We made a special trip today. This reminded me of meals I had in my travels to Mexico. I loved it. I had the Chicken Fajitas and my husband had a Chimichanga. It was outsiding and large portions! Enough that the leftovers will feed me tomorrow!

Solid new restaurant that is NOW OPEN! I've been here about 4 times since opening day primarily because of it's great location in the heart of downtown but also because the staff has always been so friendly. The first couple of times there was definitely some growing pains, but legitimately all but one concern has been remedied!! My only suggestion keeping them from 5 stars is the lack of website and phone number. Calling in an order and being able to see the menu online is crucial in 2023. Hoping an epic website launches soon and hopefully it's got the same vibe as their menu! Hint hint! (their menu is, for lack of a better term, "sexy" Large bar area and tons of dining. Keep up the good work staff.
